About REACH Project Inc – Antioch
The REACH Project worked with the City of Antioch, California, when they started up in 1983. They’re still there and provide treatment for drug addictions for adults. They also work with the Youth Intervention Programs so that they can help young people, too. If you speak Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish, you’ll have native speakers who can help you throughout your stay.
Since it started, REACH has helped more than 1,000 juveniles working their way through the justice system. These youths received outpatient programs and diversionary services. That way, they can help you stay away from a life of crime and substance abuse.
If you’re in the juvenile program, you’ll have to complete 10-50 hours to graduate. The actual number depends on your court orders. Along the way, you’ll also partake in group and individual counseling. You’ll learn from others and have time to reflect on your own. They don’t actually have any treatment programs, but they’ll arrange for you to get care from other local agencies. You’ll also have family meetings so your loved ones will know what’s going on and can support you. As you pay your debt to society, they’ll provide additional classes to help you move up and away from the justice system.
Their education and skills building workshops are interactive so you’ll get a chance to improve your decision making skills. That way, you won’t go back to abusing drugs or alcohol, and you’ll learn how to prevent relapses and find better ways to manage your emotions.
