Region Ten Community Services – Preston Avenue Peterson Counseling Center is an outpatient counseling center in Charlottesville, Virginia. They offer outpatient treatment for adults who have substance use disorder and for people with mental health conditions.

Your treatment here is entirely personalized to you and what you need for recovery. That might mean uncovering and working through the issues that affect your addiction or developing coping strategies for relapse prevention. They can help with psychiatric care and psychiatric medication management, too.

This counseling center has a rather unique model. They specifically offer 12 one on one therapy sessions over 12 weeks. Your program can incorporate those 12 sessions as well as group therapy sessions for addiction. They also have an intensive outpatient program if you are in the early stages of recovery and need a more thorough level of care. Along the way they have recovery support coaches who are other people in recovery who can guide you through the process based on their own lived experience.

The best thing I noticed about this treatment center is that there isn’t a big hurdle to starting care. You can get started with a walk in assessment during their business hours, and no appointment is necessary.
