Here, they use methadone to help individuals deal with opioid addiction and Antabuse to assist individuals struggling with alcohol addiction. These treatments are typically combined with therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Patients can call to schedule an appointment Monday through Thursday. They require that patients be 18 years of age or older and dependent on opioids for at least one year to participate in their program.

The form of the medication that they use is an orange diskette form which dissolves after adding water. The benefits for clients who take this medication typically include a reduction of cravings, prevention of withdrawal symptoms for 24 hours and blocking the effects of other opioids.

The length of time patients will receive treatment will depend on their history of use, with success being more likely the longer a patient has been dependent on opioids. The physician will decide when the patient no longer needs the treatment.

If clients are treated with Antabuse then it can cause them to have an unpleasant reaction when they ingest alcohol.
