About River Region Human Services – Andy’s Place – Jacksonville
River Region Human Services at Andy’s Place was in Jacksonville, Florida, the city known for its sprawling coastline and rich cultural history. It’s closed now but Andy’s Place provided supportive housing for individuals who were homeless because of a mental illness, HIV/AIDs, incarceration or substance use disorder. At the residence, you received life skills training and recovery planning to help reduce the potential for relapse.
Your program included skills that support independent and productive living. This included learning budgeting and getting help to complete your education. They linked you with partner agencies in the community that could help you achieve gainful employment and permanent housing. The overall goal was to help you become a healthy and productive member of the community. You also had access to other programs from River Region Human Services that provided integrated healthcare so families could rebuild and restore communities.
Jacksonville is in northeast Florida along the St. Johns River and is home to the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. The city is known for diverse neighborhoods and a growing food scene, combining urban attractions with natural beauty. Those additional programs could include Next Step DUI which provided outpatient drug and alcohol treatment after being charged with a DUI so you can obtain or retain your driver’s license.
They also offered outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT), mental health programs and outpatient substance use disorder treatment to support your recovery journey. Andy’s Place was one of the supportive and transitional housing available to people who were homeless. They accepted many of the local major insurance providers including Ambetter, Beacon, Optum and Medicare and Medicaid.
