About Riverwood Center – Benton Harbor
Riverwood Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides outpatient mental health care and services to support independent living. They also offer referrals to early intervention treatment and intensive outpatient programs for adults in need of alcohol or drug rehab.
The early intervention group helps those who aren’t sure about treatment but have an external requirement to get help, perhaps from their family, the legal system, or an employer. The program includes education about the impact of addiction and how recovery can improve clients’ lives. The group meets weekly for eight weeks and is designed to encourage clients to seek more intensive treatment.
The IOP helps participants address recovery issues and begin their journey to sobriety. The program meets three hours a day for three days per week, and clients can choose morning or evening sessions. Services in the IOP include individual and group therapy, peer support, life-skills training, and relapse prevention.
There is also an aftercare program. Weekly group meetings allow those with 30+ days of sobriety to continue to have support and avoid relapse. Clients may also be connected to 12-step and other recovery support groups and community resources such as housing and employment support.
Riverwood Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). They may work with major insurance providers, such as Anthem, ComPsych, Magellan Health and others. Contact your insurance provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.
