About Salvation Army Harbor Light – Monroe
The Salvation Army’s Monroe Harbor Light center is a detox, residential, and outpatient facility located in Monroe Harbor, Michigan. They’re near the shores of Lake Michigan, just south of Romulus off of 275/75. This facility is a Christian, evangelical faith based mission, with roots in the Methodist tradition. They offer various programs for substance abuse.
Its treatment is faith based as well, including pastoral care, peer counseling and mental health counseling. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Heroin Anonymous (HA) support groups are available as are programs specifically for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
A Three Step program is in place to make the path of sobriety easier to begin. The first step is to call or walk in to speak with a care coordinator. The second step is an initial assessment to gauge your needs. The third step is meeting with a care team dedicated to your treatment and sobriety.
Monroe Harbor Light offers a 3-5 day detox program, residential treatment for up to 90 days, individual, group, or family therapy and peer support. Naltrexone is also available after detox as deemed necessary, to prevent relapse. Intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) is available in 4-hour group or individual sessions, 3 times per week. Variable outpatient services are also available to accommodate greater flexibility.
For those seeking a Christian, faith based approach to sobriety, or for those without insurance or means to pay, Monroe Harbor Light seems to be an ideal setting.
As a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization, treatment is paid for via donations and is no charge to you.
