About SEARHC – Raven’s Way – Sitka

Sitka Behavioral Health Clinic offers care in Sitka, Alaska, for all ages. This clinic is operated out of the Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. Their psychiatrists and licensed therapists offer care for substance abuse and mental health challenges.

Their outpatient program offers daily services for individuals, groups and families. This will be a mix of private counseling, group processing sessions, education and recovery skills training.

One of the programs I like is their at-home medication treatment. Patients use an online app to scan a tamper aware label and then record themselves taking their medication. This removes the need to travel to the facility each day. Your care team will review the video sometime during the day. On top of being convenient, this method gives clients trust and freedom.

They also offer free help in signing up for health insurance or their financial assistance program. Dealing with the red tape of insurance can be a barrier to getting help, so I like that this is part of their offerings.

Their wellness support program lasts for 16 weeks and is open to anyone in outpatient addiction treatment. It is free to join and provides meals, housing and care coordination.

12-Step

12 step programs such as Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous are support group style programs for individuals who are experiencing alcohol or substance use disorder. At Evoke they use a holistic model of addiction care that includes using 12 step programs. These programs are an integral part of most relapse prevention plans and provide continued support and accountability that support sobriety.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
