Located in Somerville, New Jersey, Somerset Treatment Services is a client focused recovery center that helps clients overcome addiction. They’ve been helping the community recover from substance use disorder since 1970.

The treatment services that are available are medication assisted treatment and intensive outpatient programs. In addition to assisting individuals with substance use disorder, they also provide treatment services for clients living with HIV/AIDS.

Two of the group therapy options available for clients include the relapse prevention group and the women’s treatment group. Relapse prevention groups will focus on topics such as relapse triggers, coping skills and daily living. Group members can also provide support to each other in living a substance free life.

The women’s treatment group helps female clients be able to focus on gender specific issues related to their addiction. The group will also focus on skill building along with providing parenting guidance to improve the health of family members who’ve been impacted by substance use. In addition to these services, specialized treatment services for clients with substance use disorder and HIV are available, where you can work with a counselor trained in HIV related issues.

Somerset Treatment Services understands that some clients may need more support to deal with physical cravings. The opioid treatment program provides methadone treatment in combination with counseling to meet your needs. I also like that they provide HIV testing and Hepatitis C testing with these services since intravenous drug users can be at a higher risk of having these infections.

With time available in between treatment sessions, clients can take time to start enjoying new activities. The facility is conveniently located an hour away from New York City. You can enjoy a nice day trip there and have fun doing activities such as walking around Central Park or visiting the Museum of Modern Art.
