The South Central Human Service Center is part of North Dakota Health and Human Services. As one of eight behavioral health facilities, this location is for the south central region of the state. This main location is in Jamestown, North Dakota, but they also have a satellite location in Valley City.

This is a state funded behavioral health clinic that can help with issues like drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health. They have outpatient treatment through therapy and addiction counseling. They have psychiatric care, too, in case you have a dual diagnosis of both substance use disorder and a mental health condition.

This clinic is an excellent way to get access to care especially if you don’t have the funds for private rehab. They do walk-in assessments so you can go there at any time during their open hours and they’ll assess your addiction to come up with a treatment plan. They can also direct you to other treatment centers if you need a level of care they don’t offer like residential rehab or medical detox. Plus they have social work and case management services so they can help you get other resources that will benefit your recovery, too, like stable housing and medical care.

I think what’s most beneficial about this treatment center is its financial accessibility. You can pay for treatment using a sliding fee scale that’s based on your income. Plus they don’t turn away anyone for an inability to pay.
