About Southwest Solutions – Adult Counseling Services – Detroit
Based in Detroit, Michigan, Southwest Counseling Solutions provides treatment and support to individuals experiencing social struggles as well as mental and behavioral health issues. Support is available to clients of all ages and genders including veterans and their families. In terms of payment they accept Medicaid, private insurances, and provide a sliding fee scale.
Founded in 1970 by Monsignor Clement Kern, a legendary pastor of Most Holy Trinity in southwest Detroit, the original mission and values still shine through the organization today. This facility is committed to supporting homeless individuals, those struggling financially and those whose lives have been affected by poor mental health, addiction, or social circumstances outside of their control. Nowadays, they serve more than 13,500 people a year, providing counseling services, supportive houses, veteran services, financial coaching, employment support and much more.
Part of their support system includes a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Designed to provide thorough, integrated care and effective treatment for a range of mental health issues as well as substance use disorder (SUD) services their crisis services are available 24/7 every day of the year. Here, clients can access quick and easy screening and risk assessment for their addiction or mental health condition.
Services are available regardless of individuals’ ability to pay, or where they’re from. Treatment planning, outpatient addiction treatment and mental health services are all available here. Clients will also be screened to assess their primary care needs and may receive case management services.
Some may also be referred for psychiatric rehab services and linked up with counseling and peer support services. The vast range of services available here are designed for ease of access with the aim of stabilizing individuals and providing necessary treatment for those who need it.
