You’ll be accessed and, if deemed appropriate, you’ll receive your first dose.

The facility provides same day admission as well as walk in access for eligible individuals. The admission process will take a total of three to four hours. In contrast to other outpatient programs, daily visits won’t be necessary at this location in most cases.

Along with medication, you’ll also be participating in substance abuse counseling as you’re stabilizing. Your counselor will work with you to develop relapse prevention strategies that can assist you in your recovery. They may use therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to teach you ways to reduce stress without using substances.

Spectrum Health Systems follows a model of care referred to as “hub and spoke.” The outpatient center where you’ll receive your medication serves as the intake hub. When you’ve stabilized, you’ll be transitioned to a community provider who will help you continue your treatment closer to home.

With Spectrum Health Systems located on Pleasant Street, you have convenient access to local areas such as Elm Park and downtown Worcester. You’re also less than an hour away from Boston, Massachusetts.
