Known as a historical whaling port New Bedford, Massachusetts is also home to Steppingstone – New Bedford Women’s Graduate Program. This sober living home welcomes women aged 18 or older to continue their substance use and co occurring disorder recovery journey. You can access a safe and supportive space to hone in and advance in recovery.

With sober living homes you’ll benefit from a balance of independence and ongoing support from a dedicated staff and peers. Their program serves Massachusetts residents stepping down from higher levels of care or those who’ve been sober for at least three months. They also require you to be employed or have the financial means to support yourself. All women in the program share a common desire for longer term support in their journey.

They offer comprehensive case management to ensure you receive care ans referrals as well as discharge planning that works for your unique situation. These approaches can help you learn and apply essential recovery skills in daily life to promote sustained sobriety.

Another feature I liked was their emphasis on improving your overall quality of life. They understand that success in recovery boils down to multiple factors. You can participate in nutrition and health as well as wellness counseling. There is also training in independent living skills and employment and housing placement assistance along with structured recreational activities and more. You’ll benefit from interventions that heal your mind and body and soul while setting you up for success in recovery.
