About Stevens Treatment Programs – Swansea
Located in Swansea, Massachusetts is Stevens Treatment Programs. This is an organization that provides specialized programming for adolescent boys who are struggling with behavioral health challenges.
Their services extend to boys who have severe mental health or behavioral health struggles as well as boys who are at risk or have experimented with substance use.
Through intentional, individualized, and wraparound care, their residential treatment program allows boys to build a strong foundation of support and skills that will help transform their lives. Once boys complete their program here, following an initial assessment of course, they’ll have the opportunity to move into one of this organization’s intensive group homes where services will continue.
The Stevens Treatment Programs’ main campus sits on 26 acres just south of Swansea. The setting is rural, rooted in nature, and boys will have access to a number of natural recreational areas including a pond, outdoor athletic fields and a basketball court, a gymnasium, and walking trails where they can enjoy the serenity of nature here.
This main campus is just 50 miles south of Boston and 15 miles southeast of Rhode Island. It’s conveniently located for families in the region who are seeking comprehensive support for their adolescent boys.
The group counseling sessions offered through their treatment program address a diverse range of struggles that adolescent boys will often face. Topics include sexual behavior treatment, arson-related support, how to build healthy habits and manage your emotions, communication and social skills, and substance abuse prevention support, among other topics discussed.
Through these group sessions, boys will get to work with peers and mentors who will empower and motivate them to develop the skills that will ultimately transform their lives.
Also, a big part of both their individual and group counseling sessions is family support. Family counseling allows boys to feel a sense of belonging within their family unit by helping their loved ones understand their struggles and recovery goals better.
