Summit Malibu is a Joint-Commission-accredited, luxury addiction and mental health treatment center. The center is situated on three acres on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Malibu, California. There’s easy beach access and it’s an hour from Los Angeles. The center accepts many PPO insurance plans, though they are out of network. They do not accept any government plans. The center offers an inpatient treatment program with a holistic approach.

They provide residents with the tools necessary to treat the soul, mind and body. Residents work on getting to the underlying issues of their addictions. This often includes identifying co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Mental health issues often drive substance use in an attempt to self-medicate.

You’ll attend at least four individual addiction therapy sessions weekly with more available as necessary. The therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help you identify and challenge your negative behaviors and thought patterns. You’ll learn mindfulness techniques to help regulate your emotions, manage triggers, and reduce self-destructive behaviors while strengthening skills to prevent relapse.

The program helps you work through any past trauma that may have led to your substance use. You’ll learn better coping mechanisms for managing stress and triggers. You’ll participate in individual and group therapy and have opportunities to explore your spirituality. There’s an emphasis on proper nutrition to repair bodily damage caused by substance use. The staff uses organic and fresh ingredients grown in their garden. You’ll have three fresh, healthy meals per day with snacks available in the kitchen.

Along with the nutritious food, they offer vitamin drip therapy. This IV therapy drips minerals, vitamins, and amino acids straight into your bloodstream. This restores nutrients while repairing cellular function damaged by substance use. It will also improve your energy levels which often diminish during detox. You’ll experience improved comfort and a reduction in cravings and withdrawal symptoms while strengthening your immune system.
