The residential program at Kern County Teen Challenge is for individuals who want to recover from addiction and set a strong foundation for their future. Basic life skills, education, and workforce readiness are addressed in conjunction with faith-based healing principles and recovery-oriented classes and counseling. This program lasts two years on average and is offered to both men and women.
Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.
