About The Beach House – Malibu
The Pointe Malibu is a private beach house substance abuse and mental health recovery facility in Malibu, California. They provide highly personalized detox, inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and medication assisted treatment (MAT) programs for adults, with specialized programs for LGBTQ+ and professional clients. The beachfront setting combines a natural setting with a high level of privacy.
Medical detox is the first step in recovery. Clients stabilize under the care of medical staff so they can enter treatment free of drugs and alcohol. Staff help clients safely manage their symptoms during this time and prepare them for inpatient treatment.
Inpatient care takes place at the beach house in a welcoming atmosphere with luxury amenities and a high level of privacy. Individualized treatment plans include individual and group therapy, family therapy, and case management services. Therapeutic methods include neurofeedback, holistic therapies, assessments, nutritional support, pain management, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), seeking safety groups, gender specific care, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma therapy.
The PHP is designed for those who want intensive treatment but don’t want to live at the facility. Clients spend much of each day (up to seven hours) in treatment and return home at night.
The IOP is an outpatient program that meets at the facility for sessions three to five days per week.
Clients approved for MAT are prescribed medications designed to help them cope with cravings and other disruptive symptoms. All medication use through MAT is closely monitored by staff.
Many private insurance plans, such as Magellan, Aetna, TRICARE, ComPsych, and Humana, cover some or all of addiction treatment costs. Clients are urged to confirm coverage with their plan, as out of network benefits may vary.
