The Lifehouse Recovery Center is a faith based recovery home for men who genuinely seek to reclaim their lives from unhealthy alcohol and drug dependency. It is situated along Washington Avenue in Huntington, West Virginia. The facility offers a safe, clean and structured Christian shelter where brethren can achieve total restoration in Christ. The program accepts unbelievers and people of different faiths. You just need a genuine commitment to heal to be accepted.

Residential recovery in this facility is geared towards helping you build resilience and achieve lasting healing by strengthening your faith in Christ and personal relationships with God. The program centers around faith-based practices like daily devotions and group Bible studies, Sunday worship services and guided prayer sessions.

You’re expected to actively participate in these activities to deepen your faith, build discipline and strengthen your recovery journey. You’ll also attend pastoral counseling to receive spiritual guidance and find healing and purpose in recovery through Christ.

The program also integrates clinical and 12-step practices. You’ll attend therapy sessions to build coping skills, take care of underlying psychological or emotional issues and gain relapse prevention tools. Participation in the 12-step meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous is compulsory as well to help you build a strong support network for lasting healing.

Combining faith-based practices alongside therapy and 12-step practices grants you a pathway toward lasting healing. It’s all about personal growth and independence, accountability and strengthening your faith while working toward recovery.

The program may incorporate work therapy to help you build a strong work ethic and develop practical vocational skills that boost your chances of landing a stable job upon graduation. This is important because having a stable job fosters routines and financial independence. This enables you to focus on being productive as you navigate healing.

The staff may help you with job search, accessing transitional or permanent housing options and linkage to other community services via case management. You’ll also enjoy ongoing support from the brethren as you move forward.
