About United Family Services – Little Rock
Unity Family Services is a nonprofit organization that operates out of Little Rock, Arkansas. This organization is committed to helping keep families united as they work through challenging life circumstances.
One of the major goals of this organization is to reduce rates of juveniles being pulled away from their family whether it is because they’ve become involved in the criminal justice system or because they’ve been put in the foster care system. To help meet the growing needs of the community, there are dedicated programs here to support children and families.
This organization’s Drug and Education Prevention Program is targeted toward at risk children aged 10 to 18. Children will gain educational insight into the impact of drug use and will learn how to navigate circumstances that may result in behaviors that could lead to a substance use disorder.
There’s a dedicated boys and girls program that targets children aged 10 to 18. These programs allow children to have the opportunity to build critical life skills that will help them move through a positive life trajectory.
Because these are gender separated programs, boys and girls will tackle specific topics that impact their lives most. For example, there’s a strong focus on helping boys make stronger life decisions and not falling to peer pressure, while girls focus on a range of topics addressing positive relationship building, self esteem, and other hot button issues.
