About United Health Services Hospitals, Inc – Binghamton
The Binghamton General Hospital is partnered with United Health Services. They’re located in Binghamton, New York. Patient centered care is provided for those with a substance use disorder. They accept most of the major insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid.
What stood out to me is that they have a walk in program to receive inpatient or outpatient treatment for substance use. Medication assisted treatment is also provided for patients with an opioid use disorder or an alcohol use disorder. I like that their outpatient treatment has evening group therapy. This allows you to attend work or school during the day but still receive addiction treatment. They don’t allow more than 15 people per group.
In order to be admitted into the inpatient treatment program, you’ll need an assessment. The assessment helps the counselors determine if inpatient treatment is right for you. I like that If they determine that the program is not right for you then they will develop an alternative plan that is right for you.
The inpatient program has 220 beds and includes individual and group counseling. During the counseling sessions you will learn about the disease of addiction and relapse prevention. I like that through therapy, they will help guide you on how to restructure your life around positive activities and patterns. The length of stay is typically 14 days but it can be extended depending on personal needs.
If you’re pregnant with a substance use disorder, you will be able to receive services. Their pregnancy services stand out to me because they partnered with local OBGYNs. This ensures that pregnant women are still able to receive prenatal care during their treatment. If you’re pregnant with an opioid use disorder and are interested in Methadone, you will be given priority admission. They’ll also enroll you in their comprehensive pregnancy program.
