About UW Medicine Mental Health and Addiction Services at Harborview – Seattle
When clients receive MAT, FDA-approved medications are combined with mental health counseling to support individuals by helping them work through the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of addiction and recovery. Therapy is supportive by teaching clients how to work through their emotions and learn new skills to maintain their recovery. The medications mitigate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings while a person detoxes from addictive substances.
The medication-assisted treatment program is provided on an outpatient basis. Clients receive dosing and counseling and return to their home environment upon completion of each session.
If it is determined that a more intensive level of care is needed, a referral may be placed to a treatment center that can offer inpatient or residential care. Clients also have access to mental health counseling and dual diagnosis treatment through therapeutic interventions and personalized counseling sessions.
Harborview Medical Center – Addictions accepts most insurance plans, including United Healthcare, Magellan, ComPsych, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. It’s important to verify insurance coverage with your provider prior to starting treatment because out of network benefits may vary from plan to plan.
