About Valle del Sol – Phoenix
Valle del Sol is a community health center in Phoenix, Arizona. They actually have several locations, but this one is their West Phoenix location. At this health center they have some medical care services, but they also have outpatient counseling for anything you may need including substance abuse treatment.
At this treatment center you’ll have individual counseling with a professional counselor. There are support groups here, too, including special types of group therapy. For example, there’s a group for LGBTQIA+ clients and a group that does art therapy. Plus they can help with family therapy to repair the hurt that addiction has done to your family and counsel your loved ones on how to help you on your recovery journey.
The cool thing about this community health clinic is that they can coordinate your counseling and recovery with your medical care because they also provide family medicine and pediatric medicine. And even within their counseling they don’t just treat addiction. They have general counseling, so they can help with other issues that affect addiction, too, like anxiety and depression and family issues. They also have a specialized program for youth aging out of the foster care system, so they can help with a lot of different needs and circumstances.
Valle del Sol also has a medication assisted treatment program that provides methadone or Suboxone for opioid addiction. However, that service isn’t available at this location. It’s at their South Phoenix and East Valley locations.
Clients have reported frustrations with getting appointments but they say that the counselors are excellent and that they’re truly invested in you and your success. Their feedback indicates some possible logistical issues but overall satisfaction with the counseling services.
