About Valley Health Associates – Salinas, California
Valley Health Associates is a non-profit organization providing addiction treatment and prevention services to the community of Salinas, California. They offer a variety of outpatient substance abuse treatment, medication assisted treatment programs and community education. You’ll find safe medication disposal and overdose prevention services on-site. Programs at Valley Health treat teenagers and adults.
Outpatient treatment for adults includes a comprehensive assessment with group counseling and 12 step meetings. When you enroll in treatment you’ll also receive case management, medical support, and peer support. Sessions may cover topics like relapse prevention and coping skills, addiction education, and anger management. Valley Health likes to help you get ready for community reintegration. They’ll help you with vocational training and medical services.
The unique youth treatment program is geared toward adolescents aged 12 through 17. They also have a young adult program for people aged 18 through 24. These programs focus on healthy friendships, school engagement, decreasing risk behaviors, and setting goals.
Methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone are used to treat opioid addiction and can be accessed via dosing hours. To be eligible for medication assisted treatment you’ll need to participate in cognitive behavioral therapy and group counseling. A sliding scale fee is accepted for people who meet the financial requirements.
Another program that Valley Health puts together is a three part educational series that includes screenings, interventions, and referrals for substance abuse.
