About Voices for a Second Chance – Washington

Voices for a Second Chance is a non-profit rehab located in Washington, DC. Voices for a Second Chance empower prisoners while they are incarcerated and newly released to prepared them to successfully transition back into our community.

Voices for a Second Chance gives inmate and returning citizens a second chance to be a productive member of our community. They believe that their efforts can make a huge difference in the lives of inmates, returning citizens, and their families. Their goal is to be a catalyst for more dreams to be realized and more lives to be improved.

Inmates who wish to take advantage of Voices’ services are assigned a case worker who meets with them regularly on site at the jail. Together with the caseworker, the inmate may address physical or mental health concerns, and can begin the process of planning for re-entry upon release.

Voices recognizes that families and children of prisoners suffer trauma and disruption as a result of their loved one’s incarceration. Voices helps the children of inmates at the Stanton School in DC with a biweekly after school support group led by our counseling staff that offers a safe place for children to share their experiences and begin to heal.

Adult Program

Young Adult Program

Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
