About Walden – Hope Place – Lexington Park
Walden Hope Place was an organization that provided behavioral healthcare services to men and women who were struggling with their mental health, needed support with drug and alcohol addiction or required crisis and trauma services. Hope Place opened in 2009 in Lexington Park, Maryland. In 2018 the organization was bought by the Pennsylvania based behavioral healthcare company Pyramid Healthcare.
Pyramid Healthcare closed down the operation in Lexington Park. However, they opened up different outpatient and residential treatment services in other parts of St. Mary’s County where Hope Place was originally located.
When they were open, Walden Hope Place was a supportive community focused organization that provided you with the treatment you needed for a healthier, sober future.
When they were open, Walden Hope Place used a wrap around model of recovery which means they’d help with many different aspects of your life and your recovery. Through this model, you would have been supported in the way you needed to overcome your addiction struggles and to build a stable and healthy life overall. A big part of the treatment was connecting you to different community programs like 12 step programs to help you build that network of support for recovery.
There were different community partnerships that allowed the organization to reach at risk individuals and members of the homeless community.
There was also a big push to provide family focused care. This allowed families to have a stronger sense of unity to work with addiction and mental health struggles that were impacting them. There was also a focus on providing trauma focused, and culturally competent care as well.
While Pyramid Healthcare has taken over operations now, many of the values that Walden Hope Place emphasized are still intact.
