White Deer Run of Blue Mountain

White Deer Run of Blue Mountain in Kempton, Pennsylvania was a residential treatment facility for individuals needing addiction recovery services. Clients were able to receive helpful services such as medication management and individual and group therapy. This location is now closed, although White Deer Run has several other facilities in the area.

Medications are often a part of the treatment plan for individuals who have substance use disorder and a co occurring mental health disorder. As a part of residential care, clients received medication management services to ensure that they were making progress in their recovery.

A psychiatrist would work with patients on a regular basis to evaluate the effectiveness of their treatment. Other members of the staff would assist with medication administration throughout a client’s time in the program.

The Kempton residential facility featured individual, group, and family therapy as a part of treatment. One on one sessions helped clients get time to process their personal successes and setbacks in treatment. They were scheduled once a week and additional sessions were provided on an as needed basis.

Group therapy provided clients the opportunity to learn from the insights of others recovering from addiction and also receive encouragement. It was also an opportunity for patients to practice communication and healthy interpersonal skills that could help them with reentering the workforce. Some of the specific groups that were available at this location included groups that focused on living skills, self care and anger management.
