Youth Advocates of Sitka provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health care in Sitka, Alaska for youth (ages 5 to 21) and their families. They offer crisis intervention, residential treatment, transitional housing, general outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare planning and support. Dedicated services are available for trauma survivors, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and persons with co-occurring disorders.
Residential
The residential programs allow clients to focus on their healing in highly structured and supportive environments featuring comfortable, home-like amenities. Clients receive medical and mental health assessments, personalized care plans, and complete case management. Residential care plans are tailored to clients’ unique needs and may include short-term emergency shelter, therapeutic foster care, transitional housing, or acute hospital care for clients in crisis. Treatment includes intensive individual, group, and family counseling and robust, age-specific, recovery-focused life-skills training that addresses topics such as coping, self-care, emotional regulation, communication, decision-making, and relapse prevention. An array of evidence-based complementary therapies is available, including recreational, adventure, and experiential therapy.
Outpatient
Their outpatient programs promote a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs. Services include continuing counseling, recovery education, and ancillary services, such as academic and vocational training.
Aftercare
Their aftercare programs facilitate clients’ long-term recovery through complete wraparound care. Aftercare may include housing and employment assistance, step-down support, and referrals for additional medical, mental health, and social service programs.
