About A New Day – Albuquerque
A New Day – Safe Home is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They provide shelter and a continuum of care for youth between the ages of 14 and 24 experiencing homelessness. This includes an initial assessment, coordinating clinical and behavioral health care, life skills development through classes and courses and assistance in finding long-term accommodation solutions. Their goal is to provide a safe environment and pour love and hope into every young person.
While they don’t treat substance use disorders directly, they do provide evaluations and support while youth seek help for behavioral health conditions.
They make use of a Nurtured Heart approach when working with each young person, which centers around valuing the unique qualities and experiences they have. New Day encourages them to develop the things that set them apart and become confident in who they are.
They have two main programs within their care coordination continuum, which each have a slightly different focus. Wraparound is an intensive, evidence-based program for youths with complex needs. New Day works with the youths to create a personalized support team and action plan to improve your situation. This program is designed to help youths with a mental health diagnosis who have been involved with services like juvenile justice or behavioral health.
Rise is a program based on building youths’ strengths and helping them get organized enough to achieve their goals. The team helps youths find their strengths, identify their goals, and provides weekly checks-in to help them stay on track. This program typically lasts between three months to a year.
