About AADAP – Asian American Drug Abuse Program – Inglewood
Goodman Outpatient Counseling in Inglewood, California, offers outpatient and intensive outpatient services for men and women who are 18 years or older. Addiction treatment is available to all individuals regardless of ethnicity or race. Goodman Outpatient Counseling is available to help clients seven days a week between 9 am and 6 pm.
The facility is a part of the Asian American Drug Abuse Program, which is a nonprofit organization that gives substance abuse services to Asian Pacific Islanders and other underserved communities. The facility has staff members who can communicate with clients in different languages, such as English, Vietnamese, Spanish and Japanese.
The facility has a holistic approach to treating clients. They consider emotional, physical, environmental and other factors that can influence addiction. Some clients may have issues with pain management that may influence their addiction to prescription drugs. Through individual counseling, a therapist may help clients to change their experience with pain through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). By changing a client’s thought patterns and teaching them coping skills, they can feel less of a desire to use substances.
In addition to individual therapy, Goodman Outpatient Counseling offers group sessions, drug classes and recovery support services. Through group counseling, patients can learn from their peers how to better manage their addiction. They can also receive support as they share their journey with recovery.
Along with these services, the facility works with the local justice system in providing court approved group sessions. They might discuss topics such as parenting and anger management.
