About ABC Counseling Center – Fort Morgan
ABC Counseling Center was a substance use disorder treatment facility for adults located in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This facility appears to now be closed. It offered faith based outpatient counseling and recovery for individuals who were experiencing addiction.
This facility focused on spiritual healing and meditation. They offered help through meditation and mindfulness, believing that you could ground yourself in the present moment and help prevent relapse, while meditation could help you reduce cravings, alleviate stress and help you create a calm sense of being.
They also used prayer and faith. They used prayer to help give you strength while connecting with a higher being. Faith helped give you strength and fostered feelings of hope.
Community and service was another way to assist in your treatment. Providing services to the community and being in the community gives you a sense of belonging and purpose for your life. This also served as a way of helping others who may be in a similar situation as you.
The final practice they used was yoga and breathwork. This benefitted the body as a whole, combining physical movement and controlled breathing that helped alleviate stress and promoted emotional healing.
