About Acacia Network – Mrs. A’s Place – Foxhurst
Acacia Network’s Mrs. A’s Place, located in the Bronx, is part of the larger Acacia Network, a human services organization in New York that operates a wide range of social programs for men, women, and youth. The facility provides medically supervised outpatient treatment for people with opioid addiction, alcohol addiction, and other mental health disorders.
A feature that sets this facility aside from others is that it shares a building with a community medical center, and coordinates care with the medical center to provide comprehensive services for clients. Program offerings also focus on supporting all aspects of a person’s life while they are receiving addiction or mental health treatment.
Life skills training, such as money management, job-related guidance, and lessons to improve communication skills are incorporated into the day treatment programming. Counseling that includes individual, group, and family sessions that are augmented with recreational activities such as sports, games, art, or dance, to strengthen clients’ socialization capacities.
Everyone is accepted for treatment here, regardless of ability to pay. The center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, the New York State Empire insurance plan, and many private insurances, as well. They also offer discounts and a sliding fee scale payment option that is based on income and family size.
