About Acacia Network – UBP La Casita III – Woodstock

The Acadia Network is a nonprofit organization that supports underserved residents throughout New York City and the greater region. They provide a continuum of services to adults and families, and their La Casita III center serves as a residential treatment facility for women and expecting mothers. Women with children are also welcome to live here while they move through recovery from a drug or alcohol use disorder. La Casita III is located in the Bronx, New York.

This program primarily focuses on supporting women who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. While living here, you’ll be enrolled in treatment for your substance use recovery needs.

While living in La Casita III, you can expect your stay to last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. During that time, you’ll work with addiction counselors, have access to medication assisted treatment If your circumstances require it, and will be supported through holistic therapies that will encourage you to engage in healthy life habits.

You’ll also learn productive ways to move through life, especially if you have children depending on you. Essential life skills like effective parenting, time management, and independent living are among the self improvement skills you’ll work on while living here.

The Acadia Network was born out of the need to provide quality medical and mental health care services to the often underserved minorities who call New York City home. Over the years, this organization has grown to be the state’s largest Hispanic led nonprofit organization.

They continue to provide culturally competent, relevant, community based care to individuals and families who might have otherwise struggled to receive such support. Helping to break down barriers to care, there are bilingual services available here too.

Levels of Care

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Sober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
