About Achievement Center – Erie – Erie
The Achievement Center is located in Erie, Pennsylvania, close to the Erie International Airport. As a part LECOM Health they are a provider of therapeutic services for children, youth and families. Their programs meet the needs of young people who are dealing with behavioral, emotional, social or physical challenges. They help an impressive 3100 children each year.
At the Achievement Center youth can get intensive behavioral health services. I like that they offer interventions in the home, school or community.
Their psychology staff will complete mental health assessments as well as psychological evaluations to get to the root of issues. An assessment or evaluation is often the first step that gives you the documentation you need to access many mental and behavioral health services. If they provide a mental health diagnosis, they’ll speak with you about the potential treatment recommendations.
Youth can also participate in outpatient therapy. This can address everything from daily living challenges to serious emotional illnesses. Common concerns include depression, stress, anger management, substance use, trauma and social isolation.
A great feature of the Achievement Center is that they offer many school-based services. This makes getting youth the support they need convenient and accessible. Approaching a child or teen in a familiar setting can prevent delays due to lack of transportation or family’s busy schedule.
Teachers or guidance counselors can make referrals for these services. Also, a student or their parent or guardian can also request it.
