About ACS – Appalachian Community Services – Bryson City
ACS – Appalachian Community Services in Bryson City, North Carolina, is a provider of substance use and mental health services. They provide treatment to adults, adolescents, children and families. Adult clients can receive help with addiction through their substance abuse intensive outpatient program. Individuals have the option of scheduling an appointment or walking in to get started. In addition to this program, Appalachian Community Services Rehab also offers jail based services and DWI assessment and treatment. For the jail based program, the facility collaborates with the sheriff’s department and the Department of Social Services to provide substance use treatment to inmates. The facility’s goal is to promote physical and emotional well being in a respectful and safe environment.
The intensive outpatient program helps clients begin their journey of recovery. Individuals will receive treatment at the facility three hours a day for at least three days a week. In individual and group counseling sessions, they’ll learn recovery maintenance skills and other tools to achieve sobriety. Family counseling is also available to help heal relationships and teach families how to support their loved ones. Telehealth services are available for clients who are unable to attend group sessions.
In addition to counseling, the intensive outpatient program offers crisis contingency planning, disease management and life skills education. One thing I also like about this location is they provide treatment support activities specifically designed for clients with physical and mental disabilities or co-occurring disorders.
The DWI program is designed for individuals who’ve been convicted of driving while impaired. Licensed clinicians will administer DWI classes, counseling and intensive outpatient services.
