If you or someone you love needs detox or rehab services, this council can provide you with references to detox centers and treatment facilities. They also offer resources for family counseling. The thing I like best is the peer to peer support they offer.
The organization also has its own training program. You can get credentialed as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor here. People who have experienced addiction issues often make the best counselors because they have first-hand experience.
They also provide a Teen Intervene program which was established by the Betty Ford Clinic. They screen kids for drugs and then give them a brief intervention. Treatment is customized for each person. It is a program for kids who may have experimented with drugs or have legal problems because of drugs. The goal is to get kids to make healthier life choices.
