About AdventHealth Porter – Denver
AdventHealth Porter is located in the downtown area of Denver, Colorado, near Alamo Placita Park and Hungarian Freedom Park, providing beautiful and calming surroundings you can explore between treatment sessions. They have offered a whole person approach at this Adventist Health Complex for the last 100 years.
They provide a variety of services, including a full service public pharmacy and psychiatric inpatient behavioral health care. They were founded in 1930 and continue to provide specialized care to the community, including behavioral medicine to help you find solutions and treatment for addiction recovery, grief, trauma, and other co-occurring mental health conditions.
Their comprehensive mental health programs and services include evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and virtual mental health intensive outpatient programs. The substance use intensive outpatient program also uses evidence-based curricula designed to help you establish healthy coping skills over a 12-week in person program on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.
The program is designed for people with primary addiction or those with co-occurring mental health conditions. To meet the level of care for this program requires at least nine hours of treatment each week, during which you can expect to learn skills that promote and support your sustained recovery.
You will learn how to create a personalized relapse prevention plan, identify your primary emotional triggers, learn to employ and use coping skills and recognize possible relapse warning signs.
Admission into the program is based on placement criteria that have been defined by the American Society of Medicine. They require that you have an individual therapist and medication providers when needed outside of the program. If you don’t have these resources, they can give you referrals as needed.
