Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. They were previously located in Takoma Park but they’re now in a state of the art facility that offers private patient rooms with lots of natural light and beautiful views. The medical center offers a comprehensive list of medical services including treatment for substance use (SUD) and mental health disorders. The supportive services include exercise programs to improve sleep and boost your mood. Physical activities are shown to reduce stress and are helpful to everyone, especially clients experiencing depression and anxiety.
The treatment team offers education services to teach clients about making good food choices. Good nutritional choices can directly affect your mental health and mood. Additionally, they have spiritual care services for people of all faiths. They even have chaplains available for weddings, baby dedications, and memorial services.
The treatment in Silver Spring meets people where they are and assists them in uncovering the underlying causes of their addiction. The team offers treatment for SUD and co occurring mental health disorders in the intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults 18 and over.
The IOP is flexible for clients who have work, school, and family commitments. The program meets for three hours in the morning and is led by clinicians with credentials in substance use treatment.
They use the Matrix Model for addiction treatment, a 16 week program. The curriculum includes individual therapy for goal setting, recovery techniques, relapse prevention, education, and the 12 step model of recovery.
