About Advocates – Framingham
Located in Framingham, Massachusetts, Advocates is a mental health center. They offer support to those with substance use disorder, brain injuries, autism, deafness and other life challenges.
The facility offers outpatient counseling and psychiatric services. Even if you can’t schedule an appointment, you can go to walk in hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Though not a clinical service, if you’re in addiction recovery, they have recovery coaches to help. The coaches use their own experience to help you navigate resources to return to a fulfilling life. Recovery coaching is for those 18 and older through private pay, though some insurance companies cover this benefit.
There are addiction recovery homes for residential support where the average stay is six to nine months. There’s a recovery house for women and a separate house for men 18 and older. They accept most major insurance for residential living, including MassHealth.
If you’re a first offender DUI, there’s a 16 week program providing 40 hours of education. The program includes meetings, an assessment and victim impact meetings. They also have aftercare for second offenders. The program lasts one year, after completion of a 14 day residential program.
