Agape Recovery Center

Agape Recovery Center, located in Burlington, Wisconsin, is an alcohol and drug addiction center for men and women. Their outpatient services are offered at a sliding scale fee. Evidence based treatment and traditional clinical approaches are utilized within a supportive environment.

Agape Recovery Center offers outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services.

Intensive outpatient programming is for those who need a slightly higher level of support than what is offered in traditional outpatient environments. Therapy, group classes, and 12 Steps are common at this phase of treatment. By meeting at regular intervals, this program provides a steady amount of treatment spread throughout the week. Maintaining work and family life is common, with classes that can be taken at a variety of times.

Outpatient treatment programming is a more flexible approach to addiction treatment that is a step down from partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. These services provide continued support for addiction recovery through individual therapy, group therapy, and educational classes on addiction and recovery. Medications may be managed and for those in need, trauma support may also be offered. The goal is to continue to move toward a life of recovery and a suitable aftercare treatment plan that allows for reintegration back into society.

The 12 Step program is a common recovery model based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a plan for recovery based in a Higher Power. Middle steps include self-examination and making amends to those who’ve been hurt by the addiction. The later steps include continuing to take personal inventory while living a life of recovery and supporting others in doing the same.

Additional 12 Step groups include Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) Gamblers Anonymous (GA), to name a few.
