About Akeela House Recovery Center – Anchorage
Akeela House Recovery is a coed 90 day residential treatment program in Anchorage, Alaska. They serve adults experiencing drug or alcohol use disorder and co-occurring mental health challenges who need 24 hour support to achieve recovery. The program is staffed by licensed and specially trained professionals in alcohol and drug treatment and mental healthcare. As part of dual diagnosis treatment, all participants in this program are provided with mental health treatment.
Recovery starts with the assessment process during intake, where staff work to find the best individual program elements for each client. The goal of the program is to return clients to their communities safely so that they can live productive and fulfilling lives of recovery. If Akeela cannot fully serve a client, they will coordinate with a partner agency or program to offer additional support.
Former clients report seeing an improvement in their lives during and after the Akeela programs, with almost 95% of respondents noting that treatment helped them. In such a huge territory, treatment can be hard to find, so the fact that Akeela’s residential program accepts clients from all over the state is helpful.
