About Alamo Navajo Health Center – Magdalena
Located in the old mining town of Magdalena, New Mexico, also home to the largest cattle shipping center, is the Alamo Navajo Health Center. This health center operates under the Bureau of Indian Affairs, providing quality evidence based care to members of the Native American communities that call this region home. About 30 miles north of Magdalena is the Alamo Navajo reservation, and most of the members on this reservation seek out the critical care offered here at the Health Center.
Despite the somewhat secluded environment here, tribal members and others throughout the region will have access to evidence based care including treatment for substance use disorder they or a loved one is experiencing. Services include detoxification and outpatient addiction treatment.
Their addiction treatment support services are rooted in evidence based practices but also weave in culturally appropriate care. You will feel recognized, respected and valued as you and your family receive services for your addiction struggles.
Alongside addiction treatment services, there are also general medical healthcare services. This includes everything from dental care to emergency medical care. Plus they have more specialized services like cancer pre screenings, women focused healthcare and even wellness classes like parenting education and diabetes education workshops.
One of the benefits of seeking care here is that you’ll be immersed in an environment that’s rich in recreational activities for you to enjoy. Some of the activities you can enjoy here include horseback riding, camping, hunting, mountain biking and mountain climbing. Being able to get outdoors and connect with nature can be a strong anchor to help you work through your addiction treatment plan.
