About Alpha Home – Outpatient – San Antonio
Alpha Home has an outpatient clinic in San Antonio, Texas. It’s a nonprofit drug and alcohol addiction treatment program. Men and women can participate in their general outpatient program (OP). Alpha Home is a spiritually based program rooted in the whole person treatment through the 12 Step model.
Not everyone needs the high level of care of an inpatient or residential program, and it isn’t always easy for clients to step away from their responsibilities long enough for those (typically long) programs. OP at Alpha House accommodates those who have already completed a higher level of care as well as newcomers. The program lasts anywhere between four and six months.
Alpha House’s strength is in its use of the 12 Step model. This method adds elements of socialization, peer support, and personal responsibility to traditional group therapy. Clients in OP are also encouraged to join support groups outside of treatment to strengthen their recovery skills. Socialization and peer support play big roles in recovery, and Alpha House’s program makes full use of this fact.
