About AMIkids – Baton Rouge
AMIkids has been around to help troubled kids since 1969. You’ll find ’em located in a suburban corner of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It’s neat that this nonprofit is close to greenspaces like Evangeline Street Park and West Brookstown Park.
There are several programs that take place during the day and after school. These services provide paths for youths to work towards goals in their health, education, and careers. AMIkids also works with families to provide family counseling and skills for home.
This guidance follows the youth in risk assessment and prevention of further juvenile justice involvement. AMIkids continues with counseling and treatment. They offer tutoring for education and to get ready to jump start their careers in their chosen fields.
AMIkids provides supplemental services to their regular programs. It’s split by individuals or age groups. These include similar topics and methods such as supervised mentorship and family skills training. The latter is offered at their facility and at home.
They also have residential programs for kids with severe conditions. This service isn’t available in Baton Rouge, but it is in Branch.
