About AMITA Health Medical Group Behavioral Health GlenOaks – Glendale Heights
AMITA Health Medical Group was located in Glendale Heights, Illinois. The group partnered with community stakeholders for the health needs of all. Priorities included preventing and treating mental health and substance use disorders. They worked on enhancing access to meaningful health care based on a holistic model of care. Additionally, the group worked on developing safe, affordable housing.
Glendale Heights is a suburban community only 30 miles west of Chicago. The village area has several parks with playgrounds, splash pads, and recreational facilities. Despite the amenities, the mental health services were inadequately funded.
The medical group wanted to ensure that behavioral healthcare and substance use treatment services were integrated into the continuum of care for a better overall health outcome. Additionally, the group worked to build an effective and efficient person centered model of healthcare to create meaningful access to care for all DuPage County residents.
The former medical group offered comprehensive treatment services for substance use and mental health disorders. The services included inpatient and outpatient treatment programs with tracks for clients with both disorders. Additionally, the treatment facility offered medically managed detox.
The medical group has been through several name and program changes and no longer operates under the AMITA name. The facility is now UChicago Medicine Advent Health GlenOaks.
