Applewood Centers Inc is an organization with addiction and behavioral health treatment programs for youth in Cleveland, Ohio. This particular location is the Jones Campus, and they have a few other locations in the area, too.
This behavioral health center serves kids and adolescents up to age 21 who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction or mental health conditions. They have separate residential programs for boys and girls, and they have outpatient treatment, too. The residential programs are for teens ages 11 to 18, but the outpatient treatment can be for kids from birth to age 21.
For either residential or outpatient treatment they use a variety of techniques and treatment formats. They provide individual therapy and group therapy. Family is an important part of the recovery journey, too, especially for kids and teens, so family therapy is a key component as well.
During your child’s program they’ll get addiction counseling, and, if necessary, they’ll receive psychiatric care including treatment and medications. Staff will also address issues that are impacting your child’s substance use and behavior like grief, bullying and trauma. Along with helping your child get sober they’ll also focus on character development and growth. Plus the organization has other programs and services like a foster care and adoption program as well as a school for kids with behavioral health needs.
While some clients and parents say the program was a helpful experience, others feel the services did not meet expectations. Some mention specifically a lack of communication from the treatment center. Before you choose a treatment program, it’s always a good idea to contact the facility and get a good sense of their program directly from their staff.
