About Argus Community – Striver House – New York

Popular for countless attractions including cultural activities, skyscrapers and entertainment, New York City, New York, is also home to Argus Community – Striver House. For over 50 years Argus Community has broken barriers to treatment for adults and youth with severe disadvantages like poverty and addiction.

Their 65 bed intensive residential treatment center welcomes men aged 18 and older battling chronic substance use disorder. They use a modified therapeutic community model where peers, staff and the social environment positively influence recovery. You can access 24/7 support and encouragement in a highly structured environment. Screenings, assessments, psychiatric care, counseling and aftercare referrals are available.

What stands out most to me is their money management program. Just a subway ride away in the Bronx, this track offers individual counseling to help you properly manage income while living on limited finances. They understand that finding employment and creating financial stability after treatment can be challenging. You’ll benefit from assistance setting up checking accounts, paying rent and budgeting.

Another great feature I noticed was their DWI/DUI Screening and Assessment Services. Less than a 10 minute walk away, you can access courses to reinstate your license if you’re facing a DUI charge. You’ll benefit from education about the consequences of impaired driving and how to drive safely. They can also provide treatment depending on your unique needs.
