About Arizona’s Children Association – Thomas Road – Phoenix
Arizona’s Children’s Association-Thomas Road in Phoenix AZ, offered multiple programs to support the mental health and well-being of children and families. They’re closed now but mental health care seemed to be one of the primary services provided there. They also offered counseling and therapy for children and teens with emotional/behavioral issues.
Therapists created custom treatment plans for families struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. In terms of insurance, the facility took many types of both private and public insurance including AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid) so more people could afford their services. They offered a sliding fee scale to help families afford counseling so not having insurance didn’t cause financial restrictions on people who needed the assistance.
It also offered specialized programs for substance use and dual diagnosis where mental health issues were combined with a patient’s drug or alcohol problems. These centers prioritized the integration of mental health with substance abuse treatment so both areas of a child’s or adolescent’s wellness were addressed in tandem.
The clinic offered a residential treatment program for those who needed constant guidance and supervision. Therapy, psychiatric care, group yoga, mindfulness, recreational activities, and skills classes were available. They also offered outpatient programs. The outpatient program offered services such as individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, recreational activities, aftercare services and holistic therapies.
