About Atlanta VA Health Care System – East Point Clinic – East Point
Atlanta VA Health Care System – East Point Clinic was a VA primary healthcare clinic. In 2011, the East Point clinic was absorbed by the Fort McPherson Clinic. Despite this merger, veterans and their family members can still receive support from the VA’s operation in East Point, Georgia. They accept policies from private insurance providers, and they also accept VA benefits.
When East Point was in operation, it offered primary care support and laboratory services to veterans who sought care here. For many vets, this clinic was the first point of contact that allowed them to better understand the challenges they were facing with their mental health. Veterans who were struggling with substance use could also turn to this clinic because they would receive an initial evaluation and get connected to services within the Atlanta VA Healthcare System that could further support them.
Veterans face unique challenges after their time in service. The VA Healthcare System including the East Point Clinic was a resource for vets and their family members to find specialized care when they needed it most.
One of the benefits of seeking out care at the East Point Clinic was that you were supported in the way you needed. Whether you were a member of the LGBTQ community, were experiencing homelessness, or needed dedicated addiction recovery support, the VA clinic connected you with evidence based therapies to help guide your recovery. There was also flexible access to care shuttle services that brought you to the clinic if you did not have reliable transportation.
