About Axis I Center – Barnwell
The Axis I Center of Barnwell is an addiction treatment facility in South Carolina. Operated by the Barnwell County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the center is accredited by CARF and the DEHC. They offer general outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP) and aftercare for adolescents and adults.

They accept anyone in need and never turn anyone away for the inability to pay. They take private insurance, Medicaid and self payment. There’s also a payment plan option for those who qualify.
Everyone receives a case manager, who helps shepherd them through treatment. The case manager can also help with referrals for services like additional healthcare or housing and food needs.

This includes the South Carolina Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates and the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium.
