About Bacon Street Youth and Family Services – Williamsburg
Williamsburg, Virginia is an American colonial history hub and home to Bacon Street Youth and Family Services. This organization welcomes youth and young adults aged 14 to 26 and their families. You and your family can access outpatient or virtual substance abuse counseling to advance in recovery.
They accept many major private insurers and Medicaid. One great thing I noticed about their program is their payment options for people without insurance. You can get the care you need regardless of your finances. Depending on your circumstances, they provide self-pay sliding scale fee programs and charity care options.
You can live at home and continue work or school while getting the help you need. Their programs emphasize family involvement and provides a therapeutic experience for everyone. You’ll participate in individual and family counseling, prevention services, mindfulness relapse prevention training, Seeking Safety and more. These approaches can help you address life’s challenges in a healthy way without resorting to substance use. You’ll also rebuild essential relationships with loved ones.
For me, their REVIVE! Naloxone Training program really caught my eye. They welcome stakeholders, professionals and community members to learn more about opioid overdoses. You’ll benefit from learning how to spot and reverse an opioid overdose using Narcan. They also provide free Narcan at the end of your training. You’ll benefit from the skills to reduce harm and save lives.
Lastly, their prevention programs seem nice. Youth can participate in community based and school programs to reduce substance use and abuse. Each explores beneficial topics like therapeutic wilderness, mindfulness for youth, peer mentoring and family relationships.
