About Bay Mills Health Center – Brimley
The Bay Mills Health Center offers a comprehensive list of behavioral health and primary care services all under one roof. The outpatient facility is on West Lakeshore Drive in Brimley, Michigan and they serve the general public but are especially tuned to the needs of local Native American communities. They treat substance use and co occurring mental health disorders. They also provide medical care, have an onsite pharmacy, and offer Tribal care coordination services. The facility accepts most major insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid.
The nice thing about this health center is its comprehensive services. The outpatient addiction and mental health treatment services include individual counseling, aftercare, prevention, and outreach. Alongside the traditional substance use disorder treatment, they offer holistic therapies like yoga, acupuncture, and massage.
They also have Drug Court and Healing to Wellness programs. They can connect you to additional resources that can help your recovery too such as state and federal assistance programs, housing, employment, after hours crisis stabilization, and other services.
One of the programs that caught my attention was the Tribal Care Coordination Program. The program is for women and their children whose lives are affected by opioid use disorder, including neonatal abstinence syndrome.
The program connects clients to treatment options and coordinates their care. They provide access to resources, home visits, and transportation assistance.
